Give A Little Bit...

These are TOMS shoes, perhaps you have herd of them? They are becoming quite popular shoes. I just love that for every set of shoes sold TOMS will give a pair of shoes to a child in need. Isn't that fantastic? I want a pair of TOMS sooo.... bad, a family friend has a pair and she said that they are the most comfortable shoes ever. I know I said in my last post that I am on a bit of a shopping ban but.... this is totally different for two reasons. Reason #1: My mom would probably buy them for me (I hope I am not sounding like a spoiled little child, since I often pay for many of things which I buy with my own money). Reason #2: Both my mom and I are suckers for anything which donates some of the profits made to charity and since TOMS gives a pair of shoes to a needy child every time a pair is sold... I think that it is a good cause. The only problem is that I can't seem to find any stores around here which sell them, I can't buy shoes online since I always seem to order the wrong size. I suppose I shall just have to wait until I go to NYC, if we go this summer.

C'est la vie

Isn't this necklace gorgeous? Its from This Charming Girl, an online store. I just want this necklace soo... bad but unfortunately I am on a bit of a shopping moratorium. I need to save my money (although, that didn't stop me from buying this months Elle...). I am trying to save up for college and so I might visit my auntie in England, after graduation. I don't know if that will happen, but if it does, well, then I would like to be able to spend all my hard earned money in Topshop!

So This Is How The World Looks Upside Down...

Taken during vacation, when I got together with some friends for a Photo shoot. I took it when I was laying down on the blanket which we had set up, looking up at the tree's and sky in my yard.

The Sky yesterday while we were driving. I took it from the open sunroof on my mom's car when we were stopped at a stoplight. I just love this photograph... fluffy, light clouds that look so beautiful.

This is one of my Photographs for my 365 days, I wish I only knew how to rotate the picture so you could see it without contorting your neck into funny shapes! I hope you can read it too... it says "I Am Blinded By You."

I went to my sister's regatta, to watch her row today. They came in third, much to my sister's annoyance... she likes to win (though to be fair... I think everyone prefers to win rather then lose anything, losing sucks!). She has another race tomorrow, so hopefully she will do better then, good luck L! I won't be able to go and watch her, unfortunately, since I have plans to get together with some friends and study for exams. Yes, I know you must be thinking, it is rather lame that we have study sessions together, but really it is much more fun studying together then by one's self. We hardly study that much anyways, we are to busy eating candy and fooling around that before we know it, we haven't reviewed a thing!

Baracking

So I just found this interesting article on Yahoo news about how hip President Obama is. I thought I would show you a portion of the article which I thought was the most interesting:

"It’s so hip that school kids in Albany, N.Y., coined a term for it: “Baracking.” And it doesn’t stop there. Those in the know at Albany High greet each other by saying: “What’s up, my Obama?” and they respond to a sneeze with “Barack you.” Misbehavior is peer-corrected with the admonition, “Barack’s in the White House,” which translates, “Show some respect.”"

I find it interesting that they have used our presidents name and turned it into hip words or sayings, it just goes to show how accessible and "real" he is to everyone. So I think I shall try using "Baracking", "What's up, my Obama?" or my personal favorite... "Barack's in the White House"; it will be interesting to see what peoples reactions are. What do you think about High School Kids at Albany coining terminology which perhaps might be common Fraze's with in a few years?

Most people have herd of http://www.polyvore.com/ which is a website devoted to creating digital collages. I can spend hours just making collages of all the things which I love and are on my wish list (since I cannot spend six figures on a Chanel bag... I get my Chanel fix through making collages of all the things I would love to have!)! I have an account on Polyvore.... and I would love it if you checked it out as well. Vogue It Up

Avid readers of Vogue have probably already gotten their copy of the May 2009 issue, yet I thought I would Share with you scans from one of my favorite photo shoots from the issue. As you already know, I am madly in love with India and its culture so when I turned the page to find a whole spread featuring the Stunning Lakshmi Menon, I let out a little Squeal! On top of seeing that Vogue had featured a Indian model in their magazine, the fact that they shot in Goa (an Indian beach town) practically sent me over the moon with my happiness! I just love all the photo's from the spread, though I especially love the first, third, and fifth photos (in each one Lakshmi is wearing white dresses... I love white dresses!). Now if only American Vogue would feature Freida Pinto on the cover... that would be a dream!

I am sure that I am not the only person to notice that Vogue has featured four African Americans on their there last three covers (this month's model issue had two, then they also had Beyonce and Michelle Obama on the cover). I am sooo.... freaken' excited that they have begun to break the color barrier that can exists in the fashion world, we need more unique individuals on the covers of magazines. Though, of course the real credit should go to Italian Vogue for really breaking down the wall; with there black issue last year which featured only black models. If we could get a little more diversity in the fashion world then I think that it could bring about lots of positive changes.

Changes

So.... you might notice some changes over the next few days on this blog. Mad and I have decided to go our separate ways in the blogsphire, she discovered that blogging really wasn't for her since she never could remember to blog. But that is okay... since now I have all you to myself (that sounds quite evil doesn't it? Mawahaha....*cue evil laughter*). I loved blogging with Mad, she will be missed. You may have noticed that I have already started to change some of the things on this blog, such as the information section. I plan on changing a few more things... minor details really. Here's the picture of the day for you, taken by moi!
