Tickled Pink

This is taken from an Elephant Festival in India. When I
found this the caption underneath it said "tickled pink,"
isn't that the perfect description for the photograph?

I love flying and I love this photograph. I think that the
moon is behind it helps to make the photograph.

This quote is from a book I once read, but I found this
photograph on FFFFound.

These are all photographs which I have discovered over the last few days from surfing the web looking for inspiration. The first was taken from the Conde Nast Traveler website, the last two from FFFFound.com. I adore looking on both websites, since they either help me find inspiration or look for things and places to travel to.

Topshop Lust's

I <3>
shade of purple and neat detailing around the collar.

Typically I am not a fan of Kate Moss's line for Topshop, but

I think this dress is by far my favourite thing of hers. I could

see myself wearing it to attend the ballet with my grandmother

and cousin.

The perfect scarf for summer as well as helping to curb

my need for Indian things!

Very french and very me! I would totally pair this

with my new AE jeans and ballet flats for a relaxed look,

its a shame that it cost too much or I would buy it

in a heart beat.

The above items of clothing are all things which I am lusting after from Topshop right now. I have noticed that everything that I have ever bought from Topshop has been important staples in my wardrobe and always get me complements as well! Don't you just love it when you find a store where you know that anything that you buy will make you feel and look good?

Bubbles

On Thursday Mad and Gracie came over to my house so we could do the little shoot which we had been planing for ages. We took lots of photographs in the woods and fields, where I got so bitten up by the bugs, but it was all in the name of a perfect picture! I think I got some really good shots, a few which I might be able to put in my portfolio. Afterwords we found some bubbles, and us three of us, as well as my sister went into the front yard and spent a good hour or so blowing bubbles. I mean who doesn't love blowing bubbles? It reminds me of my childhood so much! The photograph above is one of my favourite pictures which I took on Thursday, look at how the colours turned out!

Whimsicality and Princesses

Erin Fetherson dresses, from I believe spring 2009 RTW, correct me if I am wrong. These two dresses appeal to me on so many different levels; perhaps it is the whimsicality's of them? Or is it the light sky blue and lilac purple colours? Or is it how perfect they would be to dance around in? No? I think that it is all three answers! Do you want to know what irritates me? The fact that I cannot find copies of Lula magazine in my local bookstores or even good scans of the issues online. I love the look which Lula has, all the pictures which I have seen remind me of my childhood fantasies of wanting to be a princess (what girl didn't want to be a princess? Heck, sometimes I still want to be a princess!).

Jet Setting

Now this picture explains exactly what I wish I was doing this summer; traveling! As you know I love to travel, almost more then anything, but sadly I cannot travel that much this summer since I am quite busy. Though we do have a few plans this summer which we are almost positive which we're going to do. I need to check out schools in the NYC area so we might go down to the city for the weekend, which I would love since I haven't been their since the beginning of last summer. Then hopefully in August my mother, sister and I are planning on doing a little road trip to visit some friends. I have never been on a road trip before but we already have the perfect road trip soundtrack, the music from the movie Elizabethtown (its the perfect driving soundtrack). I love the joy of traveling; the feeling of escaping everyday life, airports (yes I know I am weird), exploring new places, and meeting new people.

The Curious Case

"For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again. "
~The Curious Case of Benjamin Button~

I just got finished watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button for the first time. At first I wasn't too crazy about the film but then slowly it grew on me. By the end of the film I was sobbing my eyes out like a baby! So was my mother, my sister sat next to us laughing her head off at us, since she never cries when watching films. I think the first half of the film was rather slow but then it picked up speed. One of my favourite characters, wasn't a main character at all, it was the man who got struck by lighting seven times! Every time he said one of the ways he got struck it kinda made me laugh a little. I am so excited that the people who did all the amazing special effects on this film shall be doing the last scene in the seventh Harry Potter movie, the one where all the actors have to age older, I am sure that it shall be spectacular!

Elegance

Audrey Hepburn
Gah... this is amazing. She looks so poised and regal, everything which I wish I was! This photograph was taken by Bob Willoughby, who just recently released previously unpublished photo's of Audrey Hepburn, this is one of them (more can be seen on his Flickr page). Now I am off to bed where I shall ponder the beauty of this photograph, wishing that I might be just as poised as her, even if it is only when being photographed (ahhh... now you have discovered my great secret, I am not photogenic, so that is why I prefer to be behind the lens!).

Candyland

This reminds me of the game Candyland, which used to be one of my favourites games to play when I was younger. This is such a creative idea, to make a board game come to life in the forms of photographs which tell a story as well as advertising the clothes. Gosh, sometimes I wish I had the ability to be so creative and come up with ideas like this as well as the funds to make the "sets come to life" instead of using a piece of cardboard for the castle! Haha. I was planning on showing you some of the photographs which I took on Sunday with Mad and Gracie but unfortunately our plans fell through. So now we just have to wait until exams are over with and then we plan on getting together to do the shoot.

Fear

On Friday night I went to services at my temple since a family friend of ours, "little Matt" as we call him, was being Bar Mitzvahed on Saturday. Normally I find services to be a bit of a drag but that was not so this Friday night. We had some Israeli Scouts visiting our temple, they were so interesting. They were a singing group who are around my age who are touring around the United States for the summer. They sang us a song in Hebrew, and my god, it was so amazing. They had voices of angles, especially this one guy who had a bit of a solo part (he was nice to look at as well). The Israeli's sang so well and beautifully in Hebrew, which I suppose is to be expected since it is their native language, that I have decided that I shall never sing again in Hebrew, since I sound no where nearly as good as them! I am only joking of course, but seriously, they put the rest of us to shame! As well as being nice to hear, some of the guys were rather nice to look at as well! haha. My only disappointment is that I didn't work up the courage to speak to them after services, I am such a chicken sometimes! So from now on I am going to make my motto "replace fear with curiosity" so I don't end up regretting a lot of things in life, like talking to some Israeli Scouts.

Garden State

Someday when I am all grown up with a house of my own their are a few things which I feel are necessary components of my "dream house". Mostly that I have a large library filled with books and comfortable chairs to spend all day reading in, a nice bathroom, and perhaps most importantly a nice room to eat meals in. All three of the photographs are my dream "dinning room" which consits of lots of greenery, pretty table settings, and an interesting place to sit. I would love to have a conservatory style dinning room (much like the last photo), like my auntie and uncle have in England, it looks out into the beautiful garden which my aunt so lovingly grows. That is another thing which I would love in my house of dreams, a proper English garden, where I can smell the roses. Now I am off to bed where I shall have wonderful dreams about my fantasy home!

Imagination And Inspiration

"Think about a new destination
If you think you need inspiration
Roll out the map and mark it with a pin
I will follow every direction
Just lace up your shoes while I'm fetching a sleeping bag, a tent...
Another summer's passing by
All I need is somewhere I feel the grass beneath my feet
A walk on sand, a fire I can warm my hands
My joy will be complete "
I have been seeking inspiration in everything lately, I think that it is in part because I am trying to soak up the world around me. Meaning that I am just trying to be inspired, I might not understand everything but I think that it doesn't truly matter if you understand what you are looking at or learning about; it only matters that you see the beauty in it. I have also been searching for inspiration for my photo shoot on Sunday, with Mad and her sister Gracie, which has a bit of a "hippy- wanderer" feeling to it. So that means lots of "free flowing clothing", hair up in braids, and "hippy-headbands". So far I have gotten a lot of inspiration from Joni Mitchell, John Lennon and his song "Imagine", and a hippy themed photo spread which I found on the good-ol' Internet.

The New Face In Town...

Ooooh.... I am positively jumping for joy to see that Emma Watson is the new face of Burberry! I really love the adverts which she shot for the company, they are quintessentially British with a youthful edge to them. I had been hoping for some time that Emma might become the face of a label, ever since the Chanel rumor went around, and now I am happy to see that it has happened! I expect that we shall be seeing Emma wearing a lot of Burberry looks to the Harry Potter premieres this summer, not that I am complaining seeing as Burberry is an amazing label and she will wear the clothes well. I am so pleased to see that they went with a smart, well rounded person, instead of the normal bimbos that a lot of labels chose to represent them, and if it just so happens that this person happens to be one of my favourite actresses, that's even better!

to put into words myself.

See The Beauty In Everything

I have been so inspired by photographs and drawings lately.
This one is no exception, I would love to know the story
behind it, and I hope who ever wrote it, got what they were
looking for.

So incredibly magical, and hauntingly beautiful at the same time. It
must have taken forever to harness the bed to the tree! At least
the end result is all worth it!
All the pictures in this post, and in the last one as well are from FFFFound.com, I am like addicted to that website ever since I discovered it. I would love to be a member of the site, but it is invitation only, so if you are a member and your reading this; please invite me! For some reason I am increasingly finding inspiration from photographs, drawings, even quotes which keep making me want to take lots and lots of pictures! The only problem is that I need to find some people to model for me, not a lot of my friends are that willing to let me take photographs of them!

Happiness Exists

These are a few of my favourite things:
1. This drawing reminds me that although I have experienced
some strange things, their is always something even stranger waiting to
be experienced.

2. Postsecret. Their is nothing else like it; to know that
someone else might have the same secret as you no matter how funny,
embarrassing, or sad they are, connects us all.

3. This reminds me of a huge painting which I once saw in
the Clark Museum (it has a lot of impressionist art), since they
look like woodland creatures.

4. Robins egg blue is so pretty

5. This is such an intriguing picture, I like it!

6. The perfect bedroom fit for dreaming and
reading fairy tales, it is practically a fairytale it self!

7. I can't seem to figure out why I love this photograph, but
I think it might have to do with the fact that the blue couch
matches the exact colour of the water in the background;
its so magical.
And so these are a few of my favourite things right now, told in photograph form.

Big Yellow Taxi

Joni Mitchell

Look At The Stars...

Look at the stars.
They're the same stars as last week,
Last year.
Same as when we were kids.
When we weren't even born.
In a hundred years,
No one will ever know who we are,
But they'll know those same stars.
Isn't the quote beautiful? Have you ever found something so wonderfully beautiful, that when you think about it, it makes you sad to think that you might not ever succeed in making something nearly as beautiful as it? Though it is my hope that I shall always capture a piece of beauty, no matter what I do, if I cannot capture the whole thing. If I have even caught a glimmer of that beauty, then I shall be satisfied. Every one's way of capturing beauty is different; for some it is by painting, for others it is by dancing, but for me it is by taking photographs. As I have said countless times on here, photography truly makes me happy and at ease with the world, for I know that each photo which I take has a story and a message behind it and sometimes if I am lucky, that rare piece of beauty which is so hard to capture.

Diary

This is simply one of the cutest diaries I have ever come across, it makes me want to consistently journal in it every day (whereas I normally give up after a month). With its creative take on a daily diary entry it makes it easy to write in your journal once a day. I really want it in the bright cherry yellow colour, although it comes in a variety of other colours as well. It would make the perfect gift for a friend who has a birthday coming up or someone who is graduating soon! You can get it on Taschen.com, if you are interested in it (they also have alot of other interesting books too on a variety of different subjects).
